Well, I've seen many BJD tutorials around. I saw some on youyube too. I wouldn't know the links, since I didn't save it. But if you type "How to make bal jointed doll", "ball jointed doll tutorial" you should find a lot of things
I really have to make one >.< Thing is, whenever I sculpt, i get dust and mini hairs in my clay. no matter how many times I clean my table and my hands, its always there! I also tend to have fingerprints I tend to sand off later. Does this also work for polymer clay? Or just cold porcelain? and I have never made a BJD before, are there any tips you can give me? Thanks for being my inspiration..
Thank you so much! I already tried to use polymer clay and had the same dust problem. Looks like it is worst than cold porcelain on this aspect. But I read you can remove it with some kind of alcohol (I don't remember which). I really don't have tips to help you with polymer clay, I am not used to it XD Oh! I am really happy that I am an inspiration for you! I am very honored XD Thank you!
Thanks for the info! (sorry for the late reply) I've been pawing through your work lately, and every now and again I just stare at your work and I'm confused why nobody made a decent Toothless for everyone to buy at the store T.T
I've been so desperate in finding a animal BJD tutorial to make my own, since I don't have enough money to buy one. do you know any video tutorials on YouTube I can watch and make one? I really want to make a wolf and a cat BJD. i heard rubber bands work for the strings and I remember when I put rubber bands on my Goldberg contraption, I left it in my attic for a year, and they all broke. What type of string do you use?
Sorry if I ask too many questions, its just your work looks beyond awesome :3
Oh, people usually make one and sell it. As it is a copyrighted character, people usually don't make it in bigger amounts xD
You can find a lot of BJD tutorials on youtube, but for human dolls. I didn't followed any of them, so you have to watch them and see which one is the best to try. And then you make adaptations to transform them in animals. I use rubber strings, the ones that all BJDs uses as well (you can see it better on videos "how to restring BJDs")
Fair Point. XD I wish someone will make a animal BJD DX It would be so much easier. I already know you don't make tutorials, but if you can post a photo of the body parts and inside the head and all that, that would be a dream come true T.T
This is something that is very difficult on animal BJDs, the joints, how to assemble, etc. I took a long time to get something good, and for now I didn't see people making is as efficient as I do. That is why I don't share. Even because I wouldn't be happy with companies copying me without any credit, you know? But I am sure that with practice you will get there.
I think I may just end up buying one from you! Do you have any Amaterasus'(A.K.A, Ammy) in your Etsy store? I tried looking but nothing pops up in your store. I just wanted to know, cause' I doubt I'll ever be able to do this!
Sorry for being such a pain in the butt these days. I was just so excited when I found this, then realized I didn't have any materials. XD DX
I had to look at many pictures of BJDs and understand how it works. The good thing about BJDs to me is that you make piece by piece. So, at night, I am checking dA and at the same time I make some little pieces. Piece by piece and there is the complete doll
